Dave Satterfield
Dave joined the firm’s San Francisco/Silicon Valley office after a 27-year career in journalism. He specializes in crisis consulting and media relations. A two-time Pulitzer Prize winner, Dave most recently served five years as managing editor of the San Jose Mercury News, the newspaper of Silicon Valley. He has spent most of his career in financial journalism. He joined the Mercury News as business editor in 2001 at the height of the Internet technology boom. He served as a reporter and editor at the Miami Herald for 17 years, serving as the newspaper’s business editor for five years and metro editor for three years. As metro editor, Dave oversaw the team that won a Pulitzer Prize for exposing rampant voter fraud in a Miami mayoral election. As a reporter in Miami, Satterfield covered banking and economics. He also covered the insurance industry after Hurricane Andrew – the newspaper’s coverage of the devastating storm won a Pulitzer Prize. He began his career at the Ledger in Lakeland, Florida. He is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and has a master’s degree in journalism from Northwestern University.
