Maya Pogoda

Maya joined the firm’s restructuring practice in 1997. She has been involved in helping more than 75 companies develop and implement internal and external communications strategies and programs that support and advance their restructuring goals. She has assisted companies in industries as varied as retail, homebuilding, agriculture, automotive, restaurant and food manufacturing, telecommunication, airline and energy. Cases have included cross-border restructurings such as Loewen Group, Laidlaw and Federal-Mogul, multinational companies such as Mark IV, Grove Worldwide, Formica Corporation and Delphi Corporation as well as purely domestic companies such as Interstate Bakeries Corporation, Hawaiian Airlines, Edwards Theatres, and LTV Steel. She has led her clients through a number of difficult communication challenges in addition to financial restructurings, including financial restatements, product recalls, reductions in force, plant and store closings and labor relation campaigns. Prior to joining Sitrick And Company, Ms. Pogoda worked on general corporate communication issues at another national public relations agency. Ms. Pogoda holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from UCLA and an MBA from UCLA’s Anderson School of Management.
